Artist of the weekend

So, every weekend I will be featuring an artist here, They will be showing one or two pictures from their work and talking a little bit about themselves!

The first “artist of the weekend” will be the owner of Picalilli Too, She has a blog where she shows her work and share about herself.

Here is some of her work and what she has to say:

A couple of springs ago, I wanted to put something on my front door that wasn’t the typical flower arrangement, I wanted something unique. I decided to make something for myself. My first plaque is still in use, every spring – it has a nesting bird on it with the word “Springtime” on it. I have had people walk up to my door and ask where I got it, which ended up in my making them one. I also give them as housewarming gifts, making each one to match the personality of the recipient. I really enjoy making them. I have taken a bit of a break, having 3 children and one being 4 months old, but can’t wait to get some new designs out there. I can see the plaques in their box now, waiting to be primed. With the addition of my newest baby, I decided to make my own nursing apron – I just wanted to use some fantastic fabric and tweek it a bit. Thus, more people asking where I got it and then buying from me. And has even turned into a custom sale for a half apron. I love that Etsy supports these whims of mine. While in my shop, have a look at my mom’s handpainted baby gifts.

Vivika’s say thanks for the participation of Picalilli Too in this blog! :D

Hollyday’s Craft

This morning I was having coffee with my boyfriend, and I told him that I could start to craft something for Christmas, is it too early?

Anyway… I am thinking of ornaments for the Christmas Tree! But that’s business, If close to Christmas you wanna do something fun with your kids, you could try decorating some Popsicle sticks, is simple but cute… and this will bring good family time together, so here is an example:

I hope you are taking advantage of the information I’ve been posting here, and soon I will be choosing some artists to show some works here.

A Little craft… a little song!

My soul is connected to music, I can spend a day without my ipod… and when I’m in creating mood on, songs always help me out a little bit, so here goes a great song for the great people who loves to create:

Books and more books…

Hi everybody!

I’m always reading something… I have lots of books at home, I was actually thinking in get rid of them so I will have more space.

The last one I read was from David Sedaris, the name of the book is Me talk Pretty One Day, and it is a great book, I just couldn’t stop to laugh by myself! If you can, check it out this book in the bookstore near you.

And from all my reading came to me the idea to make bookmarks, so there you go:
